Classic Vibe CV-2TM

Our Classic Vibe CV-2TM is for those who want, and need, the very best true vintage tone in a small footprint vibe. The Classic Vibe CV-2TM is a small footprint pedal board (space) friendly box shown below next to a standard BOSS pedal for size reference.

Shown next to BOSS pedal for size reference

In 2012 Classic Amplification re-launched our Classic Vibe CV-2TM pedal which is a self contained pedal with no need for the 2 separate pieces (box + pedal) as the original Uni-Vibe had, it is for the musician who prefers a minimal footprint on the pedalboard but with the same all transistor analog circuitry faithfully following the original audio path circuitry of original vintage Honey and Shin-Ei manufactured Uni-Vibe and the ability to pre-set and punch-in when ready.

The true vintage analog circuit with absolutely no digital anything inside. Simply the best raw vintage-correct vibe sound and tone using the correct all analog 13 transistor audio path, Lamp-Photocell driven, when in Cancel mode your instrument's signal still runs though the vibe's preamp as it did in a genuine vintage Uni-Vibe which can be essential to getting "that" vintage tone.

Volume, Intensity, and Speed controls are located on the face, the Chorus/Vibrato switch is located on the rear of the pedal along with a true bypass switch so you dont have to unplug the pedal when it's not needed. With the exception of the additional true bypass switch, the Classic Vibe CV-2TM circuit is built and sounds just exactly like an original vintage Uni-Vibe.

Testing

How do we know our Vibe-Baby CV-2TM pedals sound right? ...by listening, and tuning, each one against known good samples, there is just no substitute for doing actual listening tests to ensure sound quality.

Bulb/LDRs

The Bulb/LDR combination we use has been selected to sound right, we're not interested in the "looks" of LDRs, or if they they look like or "resemble" vintage photocells, here at Classic Amplification it's all about the sound, 'nuff said.

I have personally tested and auditioned several dozens of LDR types from several manufacturers over the years critically comparing them to several examples of (real) vintage Uni-Vibe photocells and have settled on two types we mainly use for our Vibe-Baby CV-2TM and Classic VibeTM pedals because they sound right.

Lamp & Photocells

We have found there is absolutely no difference in sound between hermetically sealed vs normal LDR's despite what some vibe builders would like you to believe.
